Jacob's Courage is a tender coming of age love story of two young adults living in Salzburg at the time when the Nazi war machine enters Austria. This historical novel presents accurate scenes and situations of Jews in ghettos and concentration camps, with particular attention to Theresienstadt and Auschwitz. It explores the dazzling beauty of passionate love, powerful faith and enduring bravery in a lurid world where the innocent are brutally murdered. From desperate despair, to unforgettable moments of chaste beauty, Jacob’s Courage examines a constellation of emotions during a time of incomprehensible brutality. Charles Weinblatt

Has anyone gotten their hands on 'The White Queen' by Phillippa Gregory yet? I'm still waiting for it from the library.

Yes, It is a great book. I really hope you enjoy it. Though it's not one of her bests for me, I still enjoyed it and I know she put alot of time researching for the book. |

I started this group because I love history. Particularly Tudor and Regency history. I read a lot of historical novels and watch period movies. But I often find myself laughing at the inaccuracies in both. I also know a lot of people who wonder about everyday life in different periods of history and have questions about it- clothing, food, transportation, etc. So come and join this group for comments and questions about history in media!
